Baby Charlotte Update and More

I spent mine and Jarrod's 4 year wedding anniversary at the doctor's office for my 34-week check up. Even though I wasn't scheduled for another ultrasound for another two weeks, my doctor wanted me to get one now just to be on the safe side. My amniotic fluid levels are up some which is good, but the baby is weighing on the small side of where she should be right now. I am going back in a week for another ultrasound so that the doctors can check her growth. Charlotte is going to be able to fill a photo album with all of the ultrasound pictures we've had! After my appointment I had a nice anniversary lunch with Trenton and our friends, the Federico's, at Burger King.

Trenton and I ventured out to meet some more friends, the Kologinczak family, for lunch in Hampton on Friday. It was our first time to meet the Kologinczak clan's newest member, Anya. She is a cutie! For those of you in the area, if you haven't eaten at The Pub in the Peninsula Town Center, you should try it. All of our food was delicious!

Yesterday, Trenton and I had some visitors from DC. The Koemp family, friends from Guam, were coming down this way to do some sightseeing, and they stopped in to say hello. It was great seeing them again!

My mom is coming in on Tuesday and will be staying until after the baby is born. It will be great to have her here!

Trenton is doing great. He loves being Mommy's little helper! He has his own bowl and wooden spoons that he mixes with in the kitchen. He also helps with the laundry. I was folding clothes the other day, and he actually separated out all of my socks from his! Maybe I should find a few more fun chores for him to help with.....

Howdy from Kandahar!

I took the opportunity after a command photo session to pose with an Aggie flag outside my headquarters building at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan. USFOR-A South stands for United States Forces - Afghanistan (South) which means that the command that I'm attached to is responsible for all US Forces currently deployed to the southern region of Afghanistan (Provinces Hemland, Kandahar, Nimruz, Zabol, Uruzgan, and Daykondi).

I'll try to get more pictures up soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We're having a pretty low key day around here, but I made some heart shaped biscuits last night after Trenton went down to sleep so that we could have a special V-Day breakfast together this morning. The biscuits were super yummy!!!

Baby Smith #2 Update

Today was my 32-week appointment. I went through my regular appointment (where everything looked fine), and then headed downstairs for an ultrasound. I didn't have to worry about being "fit in" because I made a special appointment for a 3D/4D ultrasound so that I could surprise Jarrod with the pictures. Today both hands were up by the baby's face, so there was nothing blocking the view between the legs of our precious little GIRL, Charlotte Delaney. I can finally start buying all of the stuff that I have picked out!

You're probably wondering why there are no pictures attached to this posting since I had this awesome ultrasound. Well, my fluid levels are once again low which does not bode well for getting good shots. I am now having to keeping a close watch on the baby's movements along with drinking even more water (I already have been drinking at least 72 ounces a day) and resting on my left side off and on throughout the day. I have another doctor appointment in two weeks followed by another ultrasound to check my fluid levels again two weeks after that. Hopefully my levels will have returned to normal by then.
