I've been keeping my eyes open for a Cozy Coupe for Trenton for a while now. Today, I finally found one! Yes, I know that I could have just driven down to Toy-R-Us and gotten one there, but I didn't want to spoil the kid with a brand new car. I was looking for a nice, low mileage,
pre-owned vehicle!
Freecycle, garage sales, consignment shops...I'd been looking everywhere. This morning I was reading the weekly newsletter for one of the children's consignment shops that I frequent, and they had a Cozy Coupe listed under their list of new arrivals. I called the shop to see how much they wanted and what condition the car was in since there was no way I was loading up both kids (and unloading my double jogging stroller) if the thing was in bad shape or was too expensive. The owner told me the car was in great shape and I was pleased with the price,
BUT it was already being held for another lady who was coming to take a look at it. The owner told me that she would give me a call if the first lady didn't take it. Lunch time passed, and I put Trenton down for a nap. I had all but given up on our chances of bringing home a car today, when the shop called and told me that the first lady had passed on the car! As soon as Trenton woke up from his nap, I loaded up the kids, unloaded the stroller, and headed off to the consignment shop. The Cozy Coupe was sitting right inside the door, and once Trenton saw it, there was no way I was leaving without it! He climbed right in to take it for a test drive around the store! He loves his "new to him" big red car!

Trenton and I put this chain together this morning. We don't have an exact date for Jarrod's homecoming, but we guesstimated and put one link for each day until he gets home. The kids are young enough so that I can add a few links or take a few away if I need to. Trenton had a good time helping me put the chain together. He threaded the paper strips through the links, and then he put the cap back on the glue stick - after each link! He must have been really worried about that glue stick drying out!
