Five Years and Counting

Jarrod and I celebrated five years of marriage on February 25th.  Wow!  What an adventure the past five years have been!

Within two weeks of getting married, Jarrod and I were living in Guam, and Jarrod was headed out to sea on a submarine – while I was still living out of a suitcase in a hotel waiting on housing.  I was thrown into learning the life of a military spouse very quickly!  Luckily, there were some great wives to help me out.  Jarrod was gone for at least 50% of the time we were on Guam, but we made good use of the time that he did spend on island.  We loved getting out and exploring our lovely island home.

One of the up sides to Jarrod being out so much was that I was able to meet him at some wonderful port calls.  We also were able to take a few vacations on our own time.  Jarrod and I were able to see some magnificent sights.

Since moving to Virginia, Jarrod and I have been blessed with two beautiful children.  Raising Trenton and Charlotte is turning out to be more of an adventure than traveling the world.  They bring so much happiness to our lives.

Thanks to my mom who flew out here to keep the kids, Jarrod and I were able to go down to Virginia Beach to celebrate our fifth anniversary.  We got all dressed up and went to the 216th Supply Corps Birthday Ball.  What a fun night with my prince charming!  Here’s to many, many more years together!
