A Road Trip Lifesaver

We drove from Yorktown, VA to Farmersville, TX a couple weeks ago.  Straight through.  23 hours with pit stops.  With a 2 year old and a 1 year old.  No stopping for the night.  And it was great!

No, I’m not kidding.  The kids were wonderful and made driving straight through really easy.

Were the stars aligned?  Maybe.  But I think it had something to do with the fact that I bought one of these for each kid.

The tray made it easy to pass snacks back to Charlotte, and it did a great job of catching pacifiers when they fell out of her mouth.  She also played with the magna doodle for a while on the tray.  As Charlotte gets older, I think she will get even more use out of it.

The tray was HUGE hit with this kid though!

Trenton used his tray to put together puzzles, color pictures, “read” books, and to hold the DVD player.  He had so much fun that at both dinner and breakfast the next morning, he wanted to leave as soon as Jarrod and I finished eating – even though he and his sister still had food.  He told us, “Trenton eat car.  Go drive.”

The tray has pockets in both sides to hold cups, snacks, books, colors, toys, or anything else your child would need.  It has a belt that buckles around the car seat.  Since the tray is made of foam (covered in nylon), it is safe in case of a crash.

If you are going on a long car trip, I definitely recommend this tray.  It made our drive so much easier!
