Birthday Cake Card

We have been to birthday parties two weekends in a row, so it should not have come as a surprise to me that Trenton asked for birthday cake at snack time this morning.  I told him that it wasn’t his birthday yet so I didn’t have any cake.  Trenton then told me that he could go to his friend Eden’s house for birthday cake.  Eden’s birthday is in the winter.

Trenton wound up settling for his usual bowl of cereal for a snack while I went in the garage to sift through my craft supplies to find something to use to make a birthday cake.

After Trenton finished his snack, we got to work.  This is what we came up with:

I cut the pieces out of sticky backed foam sheets, and Trenton helped me stick them on to a 5x7 sheet of cardstock to make the cake.  He was so proud of his work!

These would be great for birthday cards or birthday party invitations.  And they are definitely cheaper than store bought cards!  If you are giving one as a birthday card, you could even match the number of candles on the cake to the recipient’s age (for young children).

Happy Birthday Cake!

This is cute Jenny! I love that Trenton asked to come to Eden's house for cake. I had a gift for Shawn but we had to miss his party. When Eden saw the gift I think she thought we were going to get some birthday cake. I think she was disappointed. Perhaps a trip to Sweet Frogs is in order for some cake batter fro yo!!

A trip to Sweet Frogs is a great idea! We haven't been there yet, and definitely need to try it out!
