Happy Easter 2012!

Our Easter started off with two very tired parents after being up in the middle of the night with two kids who woke each other up and had trouble getting back to sleep.  Once we got going this morning though, the day started looking up.

The Easter Bunny brought the kids a few goodies.  They each got a toy, a new outfit, and Easter chocolate.

And look what those magic seeds that we planted last week grew!

Jarrod fixed breakfast while I got ready for church.

After Mass, our church had a surprise Easter egg hunt.  They handed out paper sacks to all of the kids, and let them go.  Of course, I had my camera in the car, so I didn’t get any pictures.

Once we got back to the car, we managed to snap some pictures.

The kids were in hog heaven when we got back home because they had more eggs to find!

We tried our hand at Resurrection Rolls this afternoon.  Making these rolls is such a neat way for children to understand the resurrection, and I thought that Trenton would really like it.  Instead, Jarrod and I were peppered with questions like, “Does everyone go in the oven after they die?”.  Ummmm….  I think we’ll be waiting a few more years before we try these again.

Kite flying was also on today’s agenda.  We walked to a grassy area down the street from our house, and got busy.  The kids had a lot of fun running around, chasing the kites, playing with Bailey, and just being silly.

And just like that, nature called, and it was time to march back home and call it a day.  And a great day it was!
