The Mother’s Day festivities got started early in our house this year. We spent an afternoon early in the week making Cling Wrap Painted Flowers to send to all of the grandmothers and great-grandmothers. The kids loved this project, I loved that there’s no mess, and the
g-mas loved getting handmade goodies! It was a win-win!
We then went into Trenton’s classroom for their Mother’s Day Tea. The class started off by singing a song for the moms. As much as Trenton loves running around singing around the house, he wasn’t really feeling in front of the crowd.
Luckily for Charlotte, food was next on the agenda (yes, that was her saying “EAT!” during the performance). And it was quite the spread for a preschool party. The class even helped make the apple muffins that were served!
Jarrod pampered me yesterday for Mother’s Day. He woke up bright and early with the kids and let me sleep in. Oh, how it felt good to sleep in! Once I made it downstairs, we all ate breakfast together. A little later we went out for lunch at Black Bear Diner. It was our first visit, and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant was extremely kid-friendly which made dining out with two young kids pretty easy. And they even had chocolate cake – the thing Trenton told me that HE wanted for Mother’s Day!
Charlotte was ready for a nap by the time we got back home, and Jarrod volunteered to watch Trenton while I went to get a pedicure. Ahhh, relaxation! Part of the deal was that I had to swing by the commissary to pick up some groceries on the way home. I also wound up doing laundry and some cleaning, but that’s all just part of being a Mom! And I wouldn’t trade any of it! These two kiddos can be quite the handful, but they are also bring more joy to my life than this Momma could have imagined!
