National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

Now there are a lot of wacky holidays out there, but when I saw that National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day was this week, I knew that it would be celebrated by this family.  I mean, how can you pass up a perfectly good excuse to indulge on chocolate chip cookies?

We observed this national holiday at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop on Cannery Row.

Let me tell you, Ghirardelli’s chocolate chip cookies do not disappoint.  They were just about as big as Charlotte’s face, and almost an inch thick.

I could not hang with my chocolate chip cookie loving kids.  As good as my cookie was, I could only eat about half of it before packing the rest away to take home for Jarrod.

Trenton, on the other hand, devoured his whole cookie!

Charlotte took her time eating her cookie, savoring each bite.

I’m pretty sure it would have taken her well over an hour to finish it, but at the forty-five minute mark, I called it.  I packed up her slobbered on cookie to take it home too.

What an awesome holiday!  Anyone know when National Cotton Candy Day is?  Or maybe National Apple Pie Day?  I’ll mark my calendar now!
