We are supposed to be in Texas, but once again, Charlotte had different plans. She came down with another UTI, but thankfully this one didn’t land us in the hospital, and she’s better now. Charlotte’s pediatrician contacted her kidney doctor, and they decided to refer her to a pediatric urologist. We have an appointment set up for the beginning of next month.
So, since we didn’t make it to Texas, we had to come up with something to do for the weekend.
Friday afternoon, the kids and I picked Jarrod up from school, and went up to the mall in Salinas. Jarrod and Charlotte are going to the Father/Daughter Dance at NPS on Friday, and we promised Charlotte a new dress. Charlotte was excited about getting to pick out a dress.
Then she saw this.
With the promise of a carousel ride after we finished our shopping, we were off. Charlotte picked out a dress, Trenton and Daddy each got some shorts, and Mommy even picked up a few things.
After our shopping, we did a quick ride on the carousel, and then went out for dinner.
Saturday morning we headed up to Gilroy Gardens. We hadn’t been since last year, and the kids were so excited to go back. Especially since we were meeting friends there.
For the second day in a row, we rode a carousel.
The kids also cooled off in the water park, rode the ferris wheel, drove cars and fire engines, played on the playground, and learned about backyard monsters.
It was a really fun day.
Until we got in the car to make the 45 minute drive home. Almost immediately, my head started throbbing. Then by the time we pulled into our neighborhood, my stomach was upset. We got home, and I went straight up to the bedroom to lay down. And it took me until halfway through the day yesterday to get back to normal.
I guess this Texas girl isn’t used to being out in the heat anymore!
I was able to get a little work done around the house yesterday afternoon, and Jarrod got the kids out for some exercise.
I think we may need to start taking the kids daily runs. They slept great last night!
