18 Weeks: Kickin’ it Up a Notch

I hit the 18 week point of my pregnancy on Monday, and two weeks from today, we find out if little poppyseed is a boy or a girl!

I’ve been feeling good and really getting into a nice routine since the kids both started back to school.

I am not a gym person, but I’ve already hit the gym twice this week!

But I’m not going to lie – I was getting nervous about not yet feeling the baby move.

Somewhere around the 18 week point was when I first felt Trenton move.  And honestly, I have no clue when I first felt Charlotte move.  We were gearing up for Jarrod’s Afghanistan deployment, and that part of my pregnancy with Charlotte is a total blur.

I think I just assumed that I would feel this baby move early since I’ve already been pregnant three times.

Another weird thing about this pregnancy is that I started seeing the baby move a couple weeks ago – in the shower when the hot water hit my belly and sometimes when laying down.  I wondered if the baby wasn’t strong enough to make itself felt.

Now there were a few times that I thought I did feel the little poppyseed moving around.  But then I’d remember that I had eaten broccoli or Mexican food at dinner….

But last night and this morning (and even a few times this afternoon) calmed my nerves.  All of the sudden this baby is making it felt that he/she is moving all around!  And we’re not talking the popcorn/bubbles feeling.  Nope - this morning laying in bed I felt a kick from the outside!  The little thing must have been saving up all of its kicking power for when it got really strong and good at it!

Cute baby bump! And I am all for pregnant and gym time! It's so healthy and good for you (of course as long as doc says its ok!) I did crossfit mom, and and have been running throughout my entire pregnancy! It's a huge stress reliever for me!

I didn't feel Wells until waaay later than the boys. My doc said it was something about my uterus being stronger the third time around so it takes longer. I always thought it would be opposite too. Caaaaant wait to find out what you are having!

You look sooo cute!! Maybe this kid is just going to be super quiet and calm. Does such a thing exist!? Kate's explanation sounds like a good one for why you could see but not feel movement.

You look adorable!!! Seriously.

With this pregnancy, I had an anterior placenta so it took me a lot longer to feel the baby move than when I was pregnant with Taylor.

Maybe poppyseed is the same way. :)
