An Afternoon Trip to Children’s Lake (where I acted like I knew what I was doing with my camera)

Every time I’ve driven by Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs, I’ve thought that it would be a cute place to spend some time with the kids.

And since I haven’t gotten six month photos taken of Evelyn I decided to make a trip to a lake into a mini photo shoot too.

Now, I’ve read a couple photography tutorials that I’ve found on Pinterest and gotten some tips from photographer friends, but I’ve never taken any classes or spent an extensive amount of time teaching myself.  It’s something that I’d like to learn more about in my spare time (ha! what’s that?).

Anyway, the big kids had a good time watching the ducks, geese, and swan in the lake, playing hide and seek, and running around.  And I wound up with some pretty decent pictures of all three kids.

I got some pictures that I can hang on my walls, the kids add fun, and Jarrod enjoyed taking everything in.  I’d say that our little afternoon outing was a win for everyone!

*If you have any great photography/editing tips (I have a Nikon D5000 and just started using Lightroom), feel free to send them my way!

They look great!! I still have a time with lightroom and have had it for over a year... but I also don't try very hard with it. haha!

These turned out great. You have a good eye for photography. And of course your kids are stunning.

My tip if you plan on printing these is to up the exposure (in lightroom) a bit. It may seem really bright on the computer, but if you don't up the exposure, they often turn out too dark in print. I've learned the hard way.

Again - awesome!
