With Halloween fast approaching, we decided that we would have a pumpkin themed weekend.
Saturday morning we went out to a local nursery that has an annual fall harvest festival.
We started out on a hayride through the fields and saw some really creative hay structures.
Then it was time to walk over to the fall festival.
Charlotte jumped right into the fun!
The big kids also had fun making apple butter, going through a haunted tunnel, learning about alpacas, seeing more hay structures, riding horses, milking cows, and bowling.
Of course we picked out pumpkins too.
As soon as we got home from church today, Trenton and Charlotte ran upstairs to change clothes so that they could carve/paint their pumpkins.
Trenton’s was the only pumpkin that needed any carving, and he was excited that Daddy let him help with the carving this year.
Charlotte decided that she wanted to paint her pumpkin. She was very meticulous about it.
Evelyn didn’t get left out of the pumpkin decorating festivities. I put some electrical tape down on her pumpkin and then let her go to town with a paintbrush and washable paint.
I’m pretty sure that Evelyn got just as much paint on herself and her highchair tray as she did on her pumpkin, but I think she had a good time doing it!
And she was pretty proud of her finished pumpkin too!
I’m pretty sure that I have three of the cutest pumpkins adorning my front porch!
