Veteran’s Day

Veteran: One who has served or is currently serving in the armed forces.  Brave.  Selfless.  A leader.  More often than not, a volunteer.  Courageous.  Honorable.  Loyal.  Devoted.  Patriotic.

USS City of Corpus ChristiUSS George H. W. Bush

A hero.

I watched close to 100 of these heroes march into the parish activity center at the school this morning.  Some of them young, active duty service members.  A few of them, old men using canes who had served in WWII.

And I watched the entire school honor these wonderful men and women with songs, stories, and prayer.

Not only was I proud of Jarrod, who was out on floor with the other veterans, but I was so impressed with my big kids and their schoolmates.  The program that the school put on was beyond amazing.

(Sorry for the blurriness of these next photos.  Pulling on a camera strap is a lot of fun for a squirmy 10 month old!)

The kid behind Charlotte totally steals the show in this picture!

Thank you to all of past, present, and future men and women who have and who will make the choice to protect our freedom.  We are so thankful for all that you do and all that you sacrifice.

And a great big thank you to our favorite veteran.  We love you!
