So let’s start a few days before Christmas, shall we?
A couple days after we got to my Mom and Dad’s, Jarrod mentioned that it looked like Bailey’s eyelids were red and irritated. I took a look, checked to see if he would let me touch them (he did but didn’t like it), and figured that they were irritated from the haircut he got the day before we started our drive down south.
Then Christmas Eve, I woke up with pinkeye.
Apparently it’s pretty rare to catch pinkeye from a dog. I guess I’m special though.
While I went to the doctor to get some eye drops, my dad and Jarrod took Bailey to the vet. The vet said that Bailey’s infection probably started out as pinkeye, but had elevated to a staph infection. So I’m on eye drops, and Bailey is on eye ointment and two different pills.
But let’s move on to happier subjects…
Before I came down with pinkeye, we had a couple special visitors from the North Pole!
Kids and grownups alike enjoyed visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
I was still under 24-hour pinkeye quarantine for Christmas Eve Mass. But I got some cute pictures of everyone else!
Christmas morning came, and we had some excited kids!
By the time lunch rolled around, I was off quarantine, had a normal looking eye, and was able to go with the rest of the family to WaWa’s house.
Later this weekend, we’ll be travelling up to have our Christmas celebrations with Jarrod’s side of the family. It’s been so nice spending the holidays with family.
I hope that you all had a safe and happy Christmas too!
