We often get crazy looks from people when we tell them that we take roadtrips with our kids. We did Virginia to Texas a couple times visiting family, Virginia to California (via Texas) for a move, California to Texas for Christmas 2012, California to Pennsylvania for our move, Pennsylvania to Tennessee for Thanksgiving, and just this weekend did Pennsylvania to Texas.
And we’ve survived all of the trips!
We left our house in Pennsylvania Friday morning, drove all day, and settled into a hotel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the night. I was wishing that I had been wearing my Aggie gear!
We were up bright and early Saturday morning and made it to my parents house in time for dinner Saturday evening.
Our kids are pretty good little travelers, and did good on this trip too.
Evelyn is a super happy baby, and doesn’t cry in the car unless she has a dirty diaper.
Trenton and Charlotte stay occupied with sticker books, their Nintendo DSes, movies, games, and the camera on the iPad, and toys.
I’ve always had a problem with carsickness if I try to do anything other than look out the windows in the car. This trip I decided to take some of Charlotte’s Bonine and was able to teach myself how to finger knit without getting sick!
We still have some more driving to do this trip (up to Jarrod’s side of the family after Christmas and then back to Pennsylvania), so hopefully those trips will be just as nice!
