Let it Snow

The kids have been waiting not so patiently for snow ever since we moved to Pennsylvania.  We missed some snow here while we were in Tennessee for Thanksgiving.  And we didn’t get any more than flurries during December.

But this morning we woke up to snow!

I drove in snow for the first time taking the kids to school this morning.  The roads weren’t wonderful, but the schools were all on normal schedule.  Thankfully, I made it to and from school twice without any issues.

I also got in a couple good workouts today.  With my new workout partner, Tim (the snow shovel).  Yep – I spent two one hour stretches today shoveling snow on the driveway and sidewalks.  I may be sore tomorrow!

Trenton and Jarrod both got home around the same time today, and it was time for some fun!

We started off with an after school snack of snow milkshakes.

Then it was outside for some playtime!

We of course had to break out the sleds that the kids bought with their bingo winnings.

Mommy and Daddy didn’t want to miss out on the fun!

Once Evelyn woke up from her nap, we brought her outside too.

She loved the snow and the sled!

She loved everything about the snow except for being set down in it…

We’re not going to make it above freezing for the rest of the week, so I’m sure that there will be a lot more time spent playing outside in the snow while it’s still around!  This snow was a little too fluffy for good snowballs or a snowman, so that’s still on our winter to-do list.  I’m sure it will get checked off at some point soon!
