Color Vibe 2015 Recap

Trenton and Jarrod are away this weekend at Cub Scout camp.  Charlotte feels left out when Trenton gets to do things that she doesn’t, so I knew I needed to find something special for us to do.

And what’s more fun than a five year old and her 24-week pregnant mom running a 5K together in the middle of August?  Yep, running a 5K with COLOR BLASTERS!

I was a little leery about how Charlotte would do.  She’s not my runner (Trenton is), so I wasn’t expecting her to run much, but I didn’t know if she’d even be able to walk the whole way without complaining.

But it makes things a lot more fun with you have friends to run with!

The girls all especially loved the color throwing party after crossing the finish line!

I was so proud of Charlotte this morning.  Not only did she not complain once about the length of the race, but she also ran more than I thought she would!  She’s already asking when we can do another run!  I love that my kids are learning that living healthy can be fun!

”Mommy, are there other runs where they throw different things at you?  Like maybe one at Hershey where they throw chocolate sauce?  I would really like a chocolate run.”

Girlfriend might be onto something…..

*A great big THANK YOU goes out to Mr. Eric for keeping Evelyn occupied while us gals were “racing.”
